Ordering Process
ORDERING PROCESS
We will assist with the design and selections for your custom wide plank flooring to ensure you receive the exact floor you are envisioning! We welcome you to invite your architect, designer, or installer into the selection process as well. Please contact our office staff at 715-246-4421 to set up a time to stop out to our facility.
Order Your Floor
Once we receive a signed confirmation for an order and a 50% non-refundable deposit, your hardwood floor order will be placed into production.
We accept personal checks, as well as Visa and Master Card. Please note that credit card payments are subject to an administrative fee.
Full payment is required before actual shipment or at time of will call.
Most custom wood flooring orders take 3-4 weeks in production. If we have inventory in stock, the lead time could be less.
Please call our office to verify lead time. We will do our best to work with you and your installer’s time frame.
Schedule Delivery & Offload
We ship your custom wide plank flooring on our trucks for local deliveries.
For residential customers we will arrange for tailgate offload at your job site or home. You can also arrange for a will call pick-up.
For customers outside of the Midwest, we work with nationwide freight companies to ship your flooring orders. We have shipped our floors, mouldings, and cabinets to over twenty-five different states, including Alabama, California, Florida, Oregon, and Wyoming, just to name a few.
All of our hardwood floors will be on a pallet and covered with a partial wood crate to protect our finely crafted wood floors.
Installation & Finish
We work with both installers and DIY homeowners. We mill your custom wood flooring to exacting tolerances to minimize or eliminate the need for job site sanding. All of our hand scraped floors and micro-bevel edged floors are pre-sanded, eliminating the need or mess of heavy drum sanding. For some conditions it may be best to consult a professional installation company, but we can work with you or your contractor to answer all of your questions or concerns.
All of our custom wide plank hardwood floors are shipped unfinished. Some DIY homeowners prefer to install their own floors, but let the professionals sand and finish the final project to assure them of a top quality finish. If this sounds like an option for you, we can work with both you and your finisher / installer on your floor. Our goal for you is to have an absolute positive experience and end up with a spectacular floor. This is what our small family operation is all about.
There are many types of finishes and stains that can be applied to your floors. Stains are typically simple to apply, and we can work with you on this process at the time of selection. Your finishes are much more varied in both what they are made of and how difficult they are to apply. They also may alter the look of the
floor itself to some degree or show more wear, tear, and age over time. Your typical choices for finishes are traditional tung oils, oil based poly, and waterborne poly finishes. Each type of finish may have pros and cons from speed of application to wear ability, but we will make recommendations
on the type and brands of finish that will best suit your needs.
